Chapter: Wonderful World of Food
Activity: Make-Your-Own Papdi Chaat
Today, the students of Class 3A participated in an engaging hands-on learning activity linked to the EVS chapter Wonderful World of Food. The aim was to combine classroom learning with a practical experience that encouraged food awareness, hygiene, creativity, and teamwork.
The boys came prepared with papdi, pre-mixed boiled potatoes, and optional toppings such as sev, pomegranate, and masala boondi. Each student wore disposable gloves and used spoons for the assembly process, ensuring a hygienic and safe environment. Aprons and chef’s caps added to the fun, giving the activity a festive, culinary feel.
During the session, students carefully assembled their papdi chaats, paying attention to cleanliness, neatness, and presentation. While no cooking or tasting took place in class, the boys enjoyed the process of creating their own snack designs, exploring combinations of flavours and textures through visual appeal.
The activity not only reinforced the chapter’s concepts about types of food and hygiene practices but also provided a joyful, creative outlet. Marks were awarded for hygiene, preparation, and presentation. The enthusiasm and participation of the students made the event a success.
