Date: 27th July,2024 Location: NCEB, Indumati Sabha Ghar Participants: - For the Motion: Ipshito Ghosh - Against the Motion: Arya Bhusan Chatterjee - Moderator/TimeKeeper: Member of NCEB Key Points: There were about 10 renowned schools who participated in the event. They had come prepared beforehand with their speeches and spoke for about 4 minutes. Both English and Bengali was accepted as the medium of the speech. Rebuttals: There were no rebuttals. It was just a prepared presentation of speeches. Conclusion: The debate concluded with a thorough discussion of the topic, highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of both arguments. The affirmative team presented a compelling case, but the negative team raised important counterpoints. Ultimately, the audience was left to ponder the complexities of the issue. Evaluation: The debate was well-organized, and both teams demonstrated excellent research and critical thinking skills. The moderator(Time keeper)ensured a smooth and respectful discussion. We couldn't win but Arya Bhusan was acknowledged as one of the best speakers. Arya is getting the opportunity to speak next year in the same stage for any seminar which will be decided later.
