Description: " I am not in competition with anyone but myself. My goal is to improve myself continuously". As quoted by one of the profound personalities of 21st century, students of St Joseph's College proudly participated in the International quiz competition to witness their cognitive strengths and boundaries. The Kolkata Quizzes@Kolkata International Quiz Festival was held on 29th July,2022 at The Bhawanipur Institute, Elgin Road ,Kolkata. From classes 6 to 8 participants were selected after elimination in school and then 3 member teams formed .There were 5 Teams from for classes 6 to 8. Following the names of the participants Group A Aditya Vikram Gupta 6A Dwiraj Acharya 7A Himadyuti Bhattacharyya 8A Group B Travis Chen 6A Aaryan Balmiki 7B Shreeyash Srivastava 8B Group C Md Uzair 6A Nirvaan Shaw 7B Utsav Singh 8B Group D Aarush Doshi 6B Ishaan Dutta 8A Supratim Chandra 7B Group E Bagmik Samanta 6B Pramit Datta 7B Ahinjit Mukherjee 8B Group B, D and E qualified for the finals. Group B stood fourth. It was an amazing experience for all the participants with different forms of rounds. The enthusiasm among the others not qualified was worth watching as they could answer questions thrown at the audience and for which they received chocolates. All students participated in The Individual Quizzer of the Year which had 30 questions. Our children from classes 9 and 10 also played a very active role in this prestigious quiz program. The following boys participated from this category: Ipshito K Ghosh 9B Mrinank Pal 10B Adrito Jasu 10B Boys had to encounter a number of tough and challenging questions and they performed very well. They were able to qualify the Prelims round and led the scoreboard for quite a long time. Their skills and knowledge about a variety of subjects is commendable and they stood fourth in the final round. As the representatives of SJC family, the following students of class 12 also participated in this renowned competitionRishiraj Ghosh 12S Jay Popat 12S Prasham Shah 12C The enthusiasm demonstrated by these children is definitely a matter of great appreciation. They actively participated in the competition and encountered all the challenging questions confidently. The confidence and enthusiasm demonstrated by the children was indeed a very pleasant experience for the teachers and the host of the event. Overall the event had instilled positivity and zeal for overcoming adversities among the children. This event has definitely created more curiosity in each student's mind and there will be more active participant from next time getting encouraged and taking part to represent school and enjoying the experience of healthy competitions.
