Description:
INDEPENDENCE DAY-2022. There was a glorious struggle, hard fought and hard won, in which many fell martyrs and countless others made sacrifices. India celebrated her 75 years of Independence- Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav with pomp and glory. Our young Josephytes, too, presented the picture of India's journey towards emancipation. The day had begun with March past with the young leaders of class 12 under the vermilion painted sky, followed by the flag hoisting by our Headmaster Sir- Mr.John Gomes, our Community Leader- Br.Ronald Vaz and Mr.Sana. The lyrics of Jana Gana Mana echoed through every nook and corner of the air. The boys were taken into the hall, where they put up beautiful skits, song and dance performances to portray the unrelenting fortitude and gallantry of Mother India. 'Jodi tor daak shune keu na ashe, Tobe akla cholo re' was a manifestation of the firm forbearance of our motherland that did not bog her down in the face of the barbarous British. The boys of class 9 formed a pyramid on stage to represent the vigor of each Indian, hoisting our tricolour, with an aim to spread peace and harmony. No matter where we go, the heart always comes back to the Mother- India. A perfect eastern-western dance amalgamation of ' Phir bhi dil hain Hindusthani' made the audience break in loud cheers, a determination to relish the state of being free. The beauty of India's varied cultures can be compared to a garden of flowers of various shades. The teachers' performance on 'Yaha par kadam kadam par dharti badle rang' indeed enhanced the beauty of the day. The day ended with the teachers' performance of 'Aashayein' - with a dream of India, free from all claims, where all would live freely with sincere aspirations, 'where the mind is led forward by thee into ever widening thought and action....'
